Job summary

Sartorius in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to lead and deliver site-wide CI initiatives. You will shape the site strategy, coordinate improvement plans, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive operational excellence.

The role focuses on reducing waste, increasing efficiency, and embedding robust processes across the site with a hands-on engineering approach.

Job description

We are looking for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our team in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire. Join our Operations team as a Continuous Improvement Engineer, where you will play a key role in leading and delivering continuous improvement initiatives, shaping site strategy and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. By identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste and increase efficiency, you will help drive operational excellence and support the successful delivery of improvement projects across the site. In doing so, you will enable our teams to focus on what matters most: better health for more people. Based in Stonehouse Gloucestershire, you will become part of a team of ten dedicated professionals who look forward to shaping the future together with you.

Your Responsibilities

• Identify continuous improvement and cost-saving opportunities, and coordinate implementation plans to deliver measurable results
• Align local and global Continuous improvement strategies
• Design, coordinate and lead continuous improvement training across the site
• Provide guidance and support to ensure processes are effective, robust and consistently applied, while reporting on project progress
• Identify and prioritise Lean projects across the business investigating opportunities, presenting solutions and delivering improvements
• Define, develop and maintain business improvement process documentation
• Carry out business process and statistical analysis to support improvement projects and wider change initiatives
• Lead site improvement activities where required
• Build strong relationships across all departments to support collaboration and optimise performance
• Promote a safe, healthy and environmentally responsible workplace by following company procedures and relevant regulations
• Keep up to date with technology developments that may impact Lean and continuous improvement practices.

What Will Convince Us

• Apprenticeship, HNC, HND or degree in an Engineering or Science-related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience
• Experience leading continuous improvement projects within a regulated manufacturing or production environment, ideally within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry; however, experience from other regulated sectors such as automotive, oil and gas or similar will also be considered
• Ability to identify, analyse and resolve technical problems effectively
• Practical, hands-on approach to problem solving within an engineering environment
• Disciplined and well-organised approach to documentation, including plans, requirements, drawings, design reviews and test methods
• Experience working with ISO requirements and other relevant guidelines and regulations
• Knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills
