Location: Buttershaw, Bradford / Hybrid Working 2-3 days in office a week - Bradford

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Analyst to join the Water Distribution team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

Water Distribution are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.

To identify, own and exploit Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities within Water Distribution. Removing inefficiency and ineffectiveness from processes to drive performance against operational, strategic, customer and health & safety objectives.

Lead CI initiatives to design, communicate and embed sustainable improvements through application of CI methodology, ensuring the outcome maximises gains in both efficiency & effectiveness of processes.

Articulate and influence the need for change with colleagues and senior managers through business cases and process diagnostics to demonstrate opportunities and associated benefits

Where you fit in:

As our Continuous Improvement Analyst you will

  • Identify & understand opportunities to remove inefficiency, ineffectiveness and outcome risk from processes through use of performance measures, process diagnostics, root cause analysis, observing work and other means
  • Lead CI initiatives to realise benefits using CI methodology to design, communicate and embed sustainable process improvements, utilising colleague subject matter experts to shape and inform
  • Articulate and influence the need for change with colleagues and senior managers supported by the production of business cases, process diagnostics and presentations to demonstrate the opportunity and benefit tailored to suit the audience
  • Challenge where change is being made that will risk creating inefficiency and/or ineffectiveness within Water Distribution or wider processes
  • Embed and maintain a CI Framework within Water Distribution to allow improvement opportunities to be identified by all colleagues and be recorded, tracked, and escalated as required to maximise performance against objectives
  • Facilitate and support performance hubs across the CI Framework as required

What skills & qualifications you will need:

  • Knowledge and previous experience / ability to apply continuous improvement methodology, such as Lean; Six Sigma; Systems Thinking, to deliver process improvements
  • Experience of delivering and embedding change, able to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours
  • Resilience and determination to deliver change
  • Highly numerate and strong analytical & problem-solving skills. Able to present data & articulate business cases in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to interpret and analyse large volumes of data
  • Coaching skills that are adaptable to different abilities and learning styles
  • Able to work on simultaneous projects and manage own time
  • Excellent IT skills especially in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrates a strong customer experience ethos

You will also benefit from having:

  • Qualification relating to continuous improvement methodology
  • Previous experience gained within the water industry
  • Previous experience in a regulated environment
  • Knowledge of water networks activities and processes & regulatory commitments
  • Experience using SAP ECC system
