Job summary

McBride seeks a Continental Multi-Skilled Engineer at our Middleton site. You will support electrical and mechanical maintenance, drive OEE improvements, and coordinate with shifts to ensure smooth handovers.

You will prepare T-Cards, manage spares, and contribute to CI and SMED initiatives while training production colleagues and apprentices. The role requires time-served engineering qualifications, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and strong problem-solving skills, with experience in FMCG

Qualifications

• Engineering skills obtained by time served apprenticeship or equivalent (NVQ Level 3)
• Cross-trade NVQ Level 3 bolt-on to core role is beneficial
• Multi skilled with basic electrical competency
• Continuous improvement/root cause analysis skills

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical or mechanical maintenance on assigned lines/equipment
• Produce and action T-Cards for planned/carried out maintenance
• Assist with production tasks on the line
• Communicate technical status across shifts
• Maintain handover and downtime records
• Interface with planning for spares and materials
• Support CI activities and SMED programs
• Provide technical training to operators and apprentices
