Job Description:

Our client, a prestigious law firm based in Dorset, is seeking a Senior Associate to join their Contentious Trusts and Probate team. This role involves managing and developing a high-performing team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional legal services, and working closely with the Head of Contentious Trusts and Probate.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Managing Matters:
    • Deliver high-quality legal services and client care.
    • Lead by example and promote effective use of IT systems.
    • Address client concerns promptly and professionally.
  2. Managing People:
    • Foster a positive, inclusive working environment.
    • Mentor trainees and junior colleagues.
    • Manage team performance and training initiatives.
  3. Technical Expertise:
    • Maintain advanced knowledge of relevant laws and policies.
    • Manage external experts and consultants as needed.
    • Uphold professional conduct in financial matters.
    • Define scope of services and transparent charging bases.
    • Keep clients informed about progress and costs.
    • Manage work-in-progress efficiently and contribute to budget setting.
  4. Business Development:
    • Market the firm’s services and organize client training events.
    • Write articles and represent the firm at external events.
  5. Personal Attributes:
    • Maintain confidentiality and exhibit a positive demeanor.
    • Collaborate across departments and adhere to firm policies.
  6. Other Duties:
    • Undertake additional tasks as required.
  7. Qualifications & Experience:
    • Proven experience in contentious trusts and probate law.
    • Strong leadership and management skills.

    • Ability to manage a diverse caseload profitably.
