Job summary

Motus is recruiting a Contentious Probate Solicitor in Reading. You will run your own caseload and support colleagues on higher-value matters within a Legal 500 ranked team. The role includes handling Inheritance Act claims, challenges to Wills, executor disputes, and Court of Protection matters.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience in contentious trusts/probate or civil litigation and a genuine interest in this specialist area, with opportunities to work across private client teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in contentious trusts and probate and/or civil litigation.
• Exposure to non-contentious private client work from training or early career (beneficial, not essential).
• Genuine interest in a career in this specialist area.

Responsibilities

• Run your own caseload while supporting colleagues on larger, higher-value matters.
• Act for claimants and defendants in Inheritance Act claims and challenges to wills.
• Handle executor and administrator disputes, including removal applications and wider estate disputes.
• Advise on Court of Protection disputes and a range of trust disputes.
• Collaborate with the private client teams across contentious and non-contentious work.
