Job summary

eNL is seeking an experienced Legal Director in Birmingham to lead and grow its contentious intellectual property practice. The role focuses on handling a broad range of IP disputes, including trade marks, copyright, and design rights, with high-profile clients and strategic impact for the firm.

The candidate will advise on complex disputes, build long-standing client relationships, mentor junior lawyers, and contribute to business development and market visibility of the IP team.

Qualifications

• Experienced Intellectual Property lawyer with a strong background in contentious IP work.
• Ability to manage complex matters independently and deliver strategic advice.
• Experience in developing client relationships and contributing to the growth of the practice.
• Previous IP team leadership is advantageous.
• Experience in patent infringement litigation would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Handle a broad range of contentious intellectual property matters, including trade mark, copyright and design right disputes, and related litigation.
• Advise clients on complex disputes, develop long-standing client relationships, and contribute to strategic growth of the Birmingham team.
• Mentor junior lawyers, support business development, and enhance the practice's market profile.
• Work with recognised specialists on market-leading matters and contribute to future direction of the contentious IP practice in Birmingham.
• Engage with high-profile cases and demonstrate excellent technical IP expertise and commercial judgement.
