Job Description:

Our client is looking to appoint a solicitor to join their construction department to focus on contentious construction work. The team has a busy and broad practice with a particular focus on the energy sector, advising on infrastructure, civil engineering, utilities, wastewater, transport, oil and gas, renewables (hydro schemes, tidal, onshore and offshore wind), flood prevention schemes, commercial developments, domestic, PFI/PPP, and professional negligence.

As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to:

  1. Advise clients on contractual provisions and obligations, especially in disputes;
  2. Provide strategic pre-dispute advice to large commercial clients, assessing the strength of their position, options to avoid formal dispute processes, and preparation for such processes;
  3. Participate in large-scale Scottish and English court actions in the TCC, Court of Session, and Sheriff Courts, and experience alternative dispute resolution methods such as arbitration, adjudication, and mediation;
  4. Document settlements and agreements, and advise clients on the concluded positions, including project continuation and commercial relationships.

Applicants should ideally have 3-6 years post-qualified experience and relevant background. The firm offers flexible working, an excellent package, and salary depending on experience.
