Job Introduction

Northern Ireland EYFS Content Writer/Editor

Location: Remote (must be based in the UK)

Contract: 12 months fixed term contract

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Join our passionate team at Twinkl, contributing to online content creation for teachers. This role is dedicated to producing new Early Years and Foundation Stage (EYFS) resources. Your primary collaboration will be with the rest of the Northern Irish content writer team, editors, and designers to create these resources.

Ongoing Projects/How You’ll Spend Your Day:
  1. Creating new resources to support teaching and learning for EYFS educators.
  2. Responding to editorial feedback and working alongside colleagues to elevate a resource to an excellent standard.
  3. Sharing EYFS subject knowledge with the team about how to write a variety of resources which engage learners and appeal to teachers.
  4. Using your own knowledge of EYFS curriculum requirements to support the team with their resource content.
  5. Producing resources which respond to customer needs and current teaching methodologies.
  6. Meeting with other members of the team to discuss and develop new ideas.
Our Ideal Candidate Will:
  1. Have completed Early Years/Primary qualified teacher status: PGCE, B.Ed or Early Years equivalent;
  2. Have 2 years of full classroom teaching experience after teacher training is complete;
  3. Be a confident practitioner in the delivery of the EYFS Curriculum;
  4. Be a fantastic communicator who thrives when working in a close-knit team;
  5. Have detailed and up-to-date knowledge of the Northern Ireland Curriculum;
  6. Be prepared to confidently work between different IT platforms, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and G Suite;
  7. Understand the teaching community in Northern Ireland, knowing their unique pressures and current educational trends;
  8. Have a drive for continuous professional development.
In This Role, You Will Learn:
  1. How to ideate and create diverse, inclusive, engaging and varied resources for children and teachers;
  2. How to work in a team, allowing you to solve problems and change tasks quickly to meet deadlines;
  3. How to collaborate with educational professionals based across the UK through our company focus groups and customer feedback requests;
  4. How to apply your teaching experience to create new products, from ideation stage to publication;
  5. How to use Project Tracking software as well as other in-house systems.
You’ll Work With:
  1. Your own direct Line Manager - Amy Moorhead.
  2. Our team of qualified teachers who currently write, edit and produce content for the Northern Ireland Team.
  3. Our amazing in-house design and illustration teams, collaborating daily to produce the beautiful, polished resources that Twinkl are known for.
We're Interested in Anyone Who Meets One, or a Combination of the Following:
  1. Has 2 full years classroom teaching experience in either a Nursery setting or a Foundation Stage class.
  2. Has a detailed knowledge of the content of the EYFS Curriculum for Northern Ireland.
  3. Access to a fast and reliable internet connection of at least 6mb down and 1mb upload. We recommend you use speedtest.net to check.
  4. You will be responsible for supplying and maintaining your own IT equipment if working remotely.
