About the role

What you will be doing

We are looking for a Content Writer to join our marketing team in our Hull office.

Acting as the ‘voice’ of Hudgells, the Content Writer will raise awareness of our brand by developing news stories, telling the stories of the clients we strive to help as part of our ethos of ‘righting wrongs’. Your writing will be pivotal in driving organic traffic, enhancing our online presence, and telling our client stories.

In this role, every day will be a unique and exciting challenge that will include:

• Write clear, persuasive, and SEO-friendly content for our website, including case stories, blog posts, service pages, and FAQs.
• Assist in PR efforts by writing press releases, articles, promotional materials and award submissions that contribute to the firm's overall business goals.
• Contribute to the overall content calendar, scheduling cross-platform content that is timely, relevant, and SEO-friendly.
• Contribute ideas and write copy for internal and external communications, creating a range of video and audio output across appropriate mediums
• Monitor and report relevant media stories and coverage internally, keeping employees informed and aligned on industry news and Hudgells’ point of view.

What you will need

In the role you will need (ESSENTIALS):

• Proven experience in journalism and copywriting.
• To be 100% proficient with spelling/grammar.
• Working knowledge of SEO and how it applies to content marketing.
• Extremely high attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven experience and good track record in creating highly effective and engaging content, contributing new and innovative ideas.
• Significant digital channel expertise, understanding their impact individually and as part of a coordinated action and maximizing on that.

It is desired that you have:

• Good planning, organisation, and implementation skills.
• Good analysis skills and ability to report on key metrics to non-experts.
• Basic knowledge of HTML.
