The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) InclusIon Initiative seeks a Content Strategist to support the Director in public-facing work. You will translate research into compelling written content, newsletters, media placements, and website material, under the Director’s guidance.

Ideal candidates will have strong journalism/editorial credentials, superb writing, and experience managing digital channels, with a good grasp of SEO and analytics.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in journalism, editorial strategy, communications or a closely related field, with a strong portfolio of published or placed writing.
• Exceptional writing and editing ability for sophisticated audiences.
• Experience of pitching to and placing content in major national or international publications.
• Experience managing digital channels, including websites and email newsletters, and using analytics to inform content decisions.
• Working knowledge of SEO and how content performs across search and social channels.
• Experience creating social media content including video.
• Interpersonal confidence and discretion, with experience supporting a senior individual and interest in behavioural science and inclusive leadership.

Content Strategist to the Director

Salary from £43,277 to £51,714 pa (pro-rata) inclusive with potential to progress to £55,497 pa inclusive of London allowance (pro-rata).

This appointment is fixed term for 12 months with an expected start date of October/November 2026.

The appointment is part time, ideally at 0.6 FTE although 0.4 FTE may be negotiable.

The Inclusion Initiative (TII) at LSE uses behavioural science and rigorous quantitative research to help organisations build more inclusive workplaces. Its Director contributes regularly to major international media, speaks to global audiences, and is the author of a bestselling book on behavioural science and careers.

Applications are invited for a Content Strategist to support the Director in her individual capacity as a public-facing academic and thought leader. The purpose of the role is to ensure that her public-facing output is sustained and extended to the benefit of TII, without placing an unsustainable burden on her time. The post is distinct from TII's operational and communications activities, which are managed separately by existing staff. You will work under the direction of Dr Grace Lordan.

You will develop and deliver a coherent content strategy, converting the Director's ideas and research into written content, a newsletter, media placements, website content and publishing opportunities.

• s ignificant experience in journalism, editorial strategy, communications or a closely related field, with a strong portfolio of published or placed writing;
• exceptional writing and editing ability, including the skill to write fluently and accurately for sophisticated audiences;
• demonstrable experience of pitching to and placing content in major national or international publications;
• experience of managing digital channels, including websites and email newsletters, and of using analytics to inform content decisions;
• a working knowledge of search engine optimisation and of how content performs across search and social channels ;
• experience of creating social media content including video;
• interpersonal confidence and discretion, with experience of supporting a senior individual in a professional capacity, and a genuine interest in the themes of the Director's work, including behavioural science, inclusive leadership and the future of work.
