Job Title: Content Designer

Contract Type: Temporary – 12 months

Salary: £38,205 Per Annum

Working Hours: Full Time – 35 Hours

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

Location: Speke, Liverpool - Hybrid

The difference you will make as a Content Designer

As part of our Corporate Communications & Marketing team, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we communicate with our audiences online. Reporting to our Digital Marketing Manager, you will join the team at an exciting time as we design, build, and implement a new website for The Riverside Group.

As a Content Designer, you will be responsible for creating, evaluating, updating, and reviewing content across all stages of the end-to-end user journey. You will use evidence, data, and research to make informed content decisions and ensure our digital content is accessible, clear, and meets user needs.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Proven experience in content design, UX writing, or digital copywriting.
  • Strong understanding of web accessibility standards and inclusive design.
  • Experience working with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Umbraco).
  • Ability to translate complex information into plain English.

Role Profile

  • Design, write, and structure website content that is clear, concise, and user-focused.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather content requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Apply Riverside’s digital style guide and accessibility standards (WCAG AA) to all content.
  • Lead on content migration projects, including identifying redundant content and ensuring accurate transfer to new platforms.
  • Use data and user feedback to iterate and improve content performance.
  • Support the development and implementation of content governance processes.
  • Contribute to Riverside’s digital experience platform (DXP), ensuring content is optimized for mobile and tablet use.
  • Work closely with external agencies and suppliers during design and implementation phases.

Essential Skills And Experience

  • Proven experience in content design, UX writing, or digital copywriting.
  • Strong understanding of web accessibility standards and inclusive design.
  • Experience working with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Umbraco).
  • Ability to translate complex information into plain English.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with content strategy, user research, and SEO principles.

Desirable

  • Experience in the housing or public sector.
  • Knowledge of digital transformation and self-service platforms.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Visual Composer, DXP platforms, and automated content migration tools.
