A government agency service in the UK is seeking a Content Designer to develop online tests and assessments. The role requires strong skills in UX design, content management, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Candidates should be passionate about creating accessible content and using analytics for decision-making. This position is a part of an agile environment that supports personal and professional development.
The Online Tests and Assessments (OTA) service provides psychometric tests for recruitment across the Civil Service. In 2021-22, over 1 million online tests were completed on the OTA service for roles across the Civil Service. The use of tests has grown year-on-year, expanding the range of tests offered. The next phase is to replace and expand the current digital service to include tests and assessments beyond recruitment, such as for learning and development.
As a Content Designer in OTA, you will help create test content, including questions, user flows, and guidance to enable users to take tests. This role touches on learning, skills measurement, and occupational psychology.
Team: The service is a multidisciplinary team including digital specialists, Occupational Psychologists, and Psychometricians. Our digital team comprises Product Managers, Delivery Managers, User Researchers, Business Analysts, and Content Designers. The psychology team includes occupational psychologists, psychometricians, and administrative support.
We are seeking a Content / UX Designer to join Government Business Services (GBS) within the Cabinet Office to develop our Online Tests and Assessments within the wider recruitment service.
We follow the DDAT job description model for Content and Interaction Designers.
Content designers make information understandable and accessible, ensuring the service is easy for everyone to use. We seek individuals passionate about words and structuring information, who understand how clear content supports users at every step. You should advocate the value of good content and support decisions with evidence from user feedback and testing.
