JOB DESCRIPTION

bunkered (part of DC Thomson) is looking for a passionate and ambitious content creator to join its editorial team. You will be employed primarily as a writer. However, some experience creating content for social media will be an advantage. From Rory McIlroy winning The Masters to the latest golf course closures, you will be expected to provide the kind of content that resonates with our huge, international audience.

LOCATION

We are based in Glasgow but are willing to employ the right remote candidate. Visits to our office will be expected from time to time.

OUR TERMS

This is primarily a Monday-Friday role. However, occasional weekend and evening work will be required. In return, we’ll offer you a very competitive salary, one of the UK’s best pension schemes, a generous holiday allowance and much, much more.

YOU MUST
  • Be a golf fan. That’s non-negotiable.
  • Have razor-sharp journalistic instincts.
  • Be inventive and engaging with your content.
  • Be tenacious in your desire to bring us the best original stories.
  • Be versatile. We want somebody who can write everything from full-length features to eye-catching tweets and concise digital reports.
YOU WILL
  • Be able to demonstrate previous journalism experience.
  • Be a highly motivated self-starter.
  • Ideally, have some experience of WordPress and Adobe InDesign.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 35 hours per week. The role is hybrid but is predominantly home-based. To reiterate, while the bunkered team is based in Glasgow, they are open to employing the right candidate remotely. You must be willing to travel to the Glasgow office from time and time and able to work evenings and weekends when required.
