Join us as an apprentice at the BBC to give yourself the opportunity to kick-start your career in a job you'll love. We’re committed to your skills and talent development. You’ll learn on-the-job, developing your knowledge and skills in an area that interests you, whilst working towards your apprenticeship qualification with one of our learning providers.
The Content Creator apprenticeship is designed to equip you with the skills to create engaging, impactful content across a range of platforms. You’ll learn how to plan and develop creative ideas, research target audiences, and produce audio, visual and written content suitable for different channels.
This hands-on, immersive programme combines practical workshops, interactive sessions, assignments and collaborative group projects. You’ll gain experience in creating, recording and editing video and audio content, while developing your planning, presentation and pitching skills. The scheme also provides a foundation in photography and imaging, social media and search engine optimisation (SEO), and website creation, giving you a broad understanding of modern digital content production.
Watch recordings from our webinar series on our Life at the BBC YouTube playlist to learn more about this scheme and other opportunities we offer, and hear from current apprentices about their experiences.
Are you passionate about short-form storytelling and creativity? Do you love the idea of making social content for BBC dramas, comedies and documentaries? This is your chance to work with our team in Wales that does just that! Creative Production is part of our Nations Brand & Marketing team. We create eye‑catching campaigns that shine a light on the BBC’s wide range of programmes and services. This year, we’re offering a placement with our Social Team – the people behind the digital content that get audiences talking.
You’ll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on and off the job. This means that as well as learning on your placement at the BBC, you’ll also attend learning blocks (up to a week at a time) with our learning provider, working towards an industry recognised apprenticeship qualification - Level 3 Content Creator.
Learning blocks will be a mixture of in‑person and virtual delivery, including attending instructor‑led workshops, tutorial sessions, presentations and group work.
For more information on what you will study during the scheme, please see the Content Creator apprenticeship standard.
As part of the programme, you will be required to travel to attend in‑person learning blocks and other apprenticeship‑related activities where necessary.
We’re interested in your passion for working at the BBC and your enthusiasm for delivering world‑class content and operational excellence to our audiences. We’re not focused on your qualifications; instead, we look for potential and offer you the opportunity to apply your transferable strengths and experience to work in different ways.
This scheme is aimed at non-graduates. If you have a degree and you’re interested in similar roles at the BBC, we recommend applying for jobs at the BBC careers site or having a look at our other apprenticeship schemes.
