Edge45, a digital marketing agency in the heart of York, is seeking acontent creator and copywriterto join our content team. You will be a natural storyteller with an eye for detail and experience creating copy that sells. We are an SEO agency, so some knowledge of the ever-evolving search landscape is useful.

The Role

• Writing copy to hit briefs
• Proof other writers’ copy
• Create briefs for content
• Create visuals for social or on-page

What you need to be able to do:

• Provide clean, concise copy. Write for a variety of sectors and clients
• Tell a story. Storytelling ability to bring copy to life and help boost engagement and conversions.
• Be a self starter. Work independently to make sure content is optimised for search, and the client is getting value for money.
• Create briefs. For clients covering everything from tone of voice to user intent.
• Understand different content needs. Each industries, business types (B2B, B2C, SAAS) has a different need.
• Understand how the content sits within a webpage. Consider other assets that could be used to make content stand out such as graphics, navigation, video, imagery, CTAs.
• Carry out keyword research. Be able to identify the correct keywords for each article to make sure we are targeting the correct search terms.
• Consider the wider picture. Consider EEAT, HCU, engagement, relevancy etc.
• Consider the commercial aspects of content creation. Are we working to the right hours, hitting their budget, providing value to client etc.
• Consider design. Have an eye for design and visuals to complement copy or for social media.
• Be able to use or be familiar with: Canva, Figma, WordPress, Google Analytics

Experience required:

• 2-3 years working with an agency or client on copywriting.
• Good SEO content knowledge
• Experience in other areas such as email marketing, social media, video creation or PR campaigns.
