The Strategic Content & Brand Lead is responsible for shaping and amplifying Boku’s voice to the world. This role is ideal for a sharp storyteller who can transform complex topics into clear, compelling narratives and who knows how to strategically distribute those stories across owned, earned, and shared channels to drive awareness, authority, and engagement.

This role owns Boku’s content strategy end to end, from the website, blog, and thought leadership to PR, SEO, and category positioning. It’s a strategically critical role, ideal for someone eager to build the foundations that will help scale the brand into a global leader in payments and local payment methods (LPMs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the content and editorial strategy for Boku across web, blog, social, and external media
  • Build and manage a thought leadership program with senior execs and subject matter experts
  • Oversee the website content experience, ensure clear messaging, SEO best practices, and audience relevance
  • Lead the creation of long- and short-form content: blogs, bylines, whitepapers, case studies, and videos
  • Partner with PR agency or internal comms to shape earned media and announcements
  • Develop and manage a content calendar aligned with GTM campaigns, product launches, and market moments
  • Define and protect the Boku brand voice and tone, ensuring consistency across all channels
  • Use data to optimize content performance (traffic, SEO, engagement, conversions)
  • Manage freelance writers, agencies, or design partners to support production at scale
  • Own Boku’s organic social media presence, shaping platform strategy, creating content, and reporting on performance, particularly on LinkedIn, YouTube and other key channels
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Commercial, and Customer Success teams to ensure content meets business needs and supports customer journeys
  • Use data to optimize content performance (traffic, SEO, engagement, conversions)
  • Report regularly on content effectiveness, campaign performance, and audience insights to marketing and executive stakeholders

Key Skills, E xperience, and Competencies

  • Proven ability to develop and deliver content that drives engagement, builds brand authority, and supports demand generation
  • Strategic thinker with experience shaping content and brand strategy aligned to business and go-to-market goals
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a talent for translating complex ideas into simple, compelling narratives
  • Strong grasp of SEO, web content performance, and multi-channel distribution best practices
  • Platform-native understanding of social media (particularly LinkedIn and YouTube), with a track record of growing reach and engagement
  • Experience managing blogs, thought leadership programs, and executive ghostwriting with a consistent editorial voice
  • Familiarity with PR strategy, earned media, and tactics to build category awareness
  • Data-driven approach to content, with the ability to measure and optimize for traffic, engagement, and conversion
  • Comfortable managing freelancers, agencies, and creative partners to scale content production effectively
  • Confident collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Commercial, and Customer Success teams to ensure content aligns with customer needs and business priorities
  • Strong project and calendar management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple content streams and campaigns
  • Deep understanding of brand voice and tone, with a commitment to consistency across all channels and formats
  • Curious, commercially aware, and motivated to stay ahead of industry and audience trends

Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of experience in content marketing, brand, or editorial roles – ideally in B2B tech, fintech, or payments
  • Proven track record of developing and executing multi-channel content strategies that support brand, demand, and product marketing goals
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a portfolio of published work (blogs, bylines, whitepapers, video scripts, etc.)
