Job description

Transport Planner - London Gateway, Essex

Our client, a transport company, is currently looking for an experienced Container Transport Planner to join their team at London Gateway.

Job type: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday | 08:00-18:00 (1 hour break)

Day-to-day responsibilities:

1. Routing company-owned vehicles
2. Planning routes as cost-effectively as possible
3. Planning routes in line with WTD and Drivers Hours
4. Ensuring all customers are kept up to date
5. Completing all necessary admin
6. Working with the Manager to ensure that all vehicles are in compliance with company standards
7. Performing and correctly implementing General Administration, e.g., costing, agreeing charge rates with contractors, queries in accordance with the company's requirements

The Requirements:

1. Extensive transport route planning skills
2. Container experience required
3. Excellent geographical knowledge
4. Strong communication skills
5. Knowledge of TOPS, Destin8, and VBS Systems - required
