Job description

Container Transport Planner - London Gateway, Essex

Our client who are a transport Company are currently looking for an experienced Container Transport Planner to join their team at London Gateway.

As Transport Planner, you will be tasked to route plan company owned vehicles across the UK.

Job type: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00- 18:00 (1 hour break)

Day-to-day:

• Routing company owned vehicles
• You must plan routes as cost-effectively as possible
• Plan routes in line with WTD and Drivers Hours
• Ensure all customers are kept up to date
• All necessary admin must be completed
• You will be working with the Manager to ensure that all vehicles are in compliance with company standards
• Perform and correctly implement General Administration, e.g. costing, agreeing charge rates with contractors, queries in accordance with the companies' requirements.

The Requirements:

• Extensive Transport route planning skills
• Container is experience required
• Excellent geographical knowledge
• Strong communication skills
• TOPS, Destin8 and VBS Systems knowledge - required
