Transport Planner - Felixstowe

Our client, a transport company, is currently looking for an experienced Container Transport Planner to join their team at Felixstowe, UK.

As Transport Planner, you will be tasked to route plan company-owned vehicles across the UK.

Job type: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00-18:00 (1 hour break)

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Routing company-owned vehicles
• Planning routes as cost-effectively as possible
• Planning routes in line with WTD and Drivers Hours
• Keeping all customers up to date
• Completing all necessary admin tasks
• Working with the Manager to ensure that all vehicles comply with company standards
• Performing and correctly implementing general administration, e.g., costing, agreeing charge rates with contractors, and handling queries in accordance with the company's requirements.

The Requirements:

• Extensive transport route planning skills
• Experience with container transport
• Excellent geographical knowledge
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of TOPS, Destin8, and VBS Systems - required
