Transport Planner Job Description

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced UK Transport Planner to join their transport team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the efficient transportation of containers and ensuring timely delivery.

Main Duties:

1. Plan and coordinate the transportation of company-owned vehicles and containers within the UK, ensuring compliance with regulations and customer requirements.
2. Plan routes and manage drivers' hours.
3. Collaborate with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to schedule and track shipments.
4. Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
5. Communicate with drivers, customers, and stakeholders to provide shipment updates and resolve issues.
6. Monitor transportation operations and address delays or disruptions proactively.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in transport planning
• Experience with FCL and LCL operations
• Container handling experience is essential
• Strong knowledge of UK transportation regulations and industry practices
