Overview

Streamline Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Container Planner. We're working with a well-established business in the container logistics sector who are looking to expand their operations team. This role is central to keeping transport activity running smoothly, with opportunities available across both day and night shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of driver briefs, giving clear instructions and managing any last-minute changes on the road.
  • Keep all systems and records up to date, ensuring accuracy across daily operations.
  • Use TOPS (TMS) to plan, track and oversee vehicle movements and VBS system.
  • Build strong communication with drivers, customers and internal teams as the go-to contact for transport queries.
  • Monitor journeys in progress, resolving any issues quickly to minimise delays.
  • Plan routes effectively so that customer commitments are consistently achieved.
  • Support compliance by following all transport legislation, policies and safety procedures.
  • Share delivery updates with clients and respond to enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Look for opportunities to optimise loads, reducing empty miles and improving efficiency.
About You
  • Good understanding of UK routes and compliance requirements.
  • Confident with IT systems such as TOPS & VBS or other TMS, plus Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Calm under pressure and able to think on your feet.
Shift Details
  • Day shifts: Monday - Friday 08:00-18:00
  • Night Shifts: Sunday - Thursday 20:00-06:00 (can be flexible)
Salary

£45-52k DOE
