Job summary

Boots Opticians is seeking a qualified Contact Lens Optician to join our in-store clinics and the wider store team. You will provide expert patient care and advice, supporting day-to-day operations under the Store/Hub Manager.

Apply up-to-date contact lens technology and spectacle dispensing knowledge to train the optical team, validate complex prescriptions, and nurture relationships with local healthcare professionals and customers alike.

Qualifications

• Full GOC registration is required.
• Qualified Contact Lens Optician with a passion for patient care.
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality patient care and professional advice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert patient care and advice across Boots Opticians clinics and store.
• Build lasting relationships with customers and local healthcare professionals.
• Train and develop the optical team using current contact lens technology and spectacle dispensing knowledge.
• Validate complex prescriptions and support patients with specialist requirements.
• Possibility to supervise a Student Contact Lens Optician/Student Dispensing Optician.

What you’ll be doing

As a qualified Contact Lens Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in store across our clinics and the wider store to support the day to day operations, reporting to the Store Manager/Hub Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Using your passion for delivering patient care you'll work with colleagues to deliver a positive customer journey.
• Building longstanding relationships – not only with colleagues and customers but with healthcare professionals in the local community and explore the opportunities for delivering enhanced services
• Using your up to date knowledge of Contact Lens technology and spectacle dispensing to train and develop the wider optical team.
• Validating complex prescriptions and vulnerable groups and providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.
• Opportunity to supervise a Student Contact Lens Optician/Student Dispensing Optician

What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)
