Job summary

Boots Opticians is seeking a qualified Contact Lens Optician to deliver exceptional patient care and expert advice in our in-store clinics and across the wider store. You will report to the Store Manager/Hub Manager and help drive high standards in optical service.

You’ll use up-to-date contact lens knowledge to train the optical team, validate complex prescriptions, and support vulnerable patients, with potential supervision of Student Opticians. A patient-first approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold full GOC registration.
• Qualified Contact Lens Optician with a patient-centred approach.
• Ability to embrace new technologies in optics.

• Support day-to-day store operations and work across clinics and wider store.
• Supervise a Student Contact Lens Optician/Student Dispensing Optician where applicable.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a qualified Contact Lens Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in store across our clinics and the wider store to support the day to day operations, reporting to the Store Manager/Hub Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Using your passion for delivering patient care you'll work with colleagues to deliver a positive customer journey.
• Building longstanding relationships – not only with colleagues and customers but with healthcare professionals in the local community and explore the opportunities for delivering enhanced services
• Using your up to date knowledge of Contact Lens technology and spectacle dispensing to train and develop the wider optical team.
• Validating complex prescriptions and vulnerable groups and providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.
• Opportunity to supervise a Student Contact Lens Optician/Student Dispensing Optician
