A leading water company is seeking a Customer Demand & Consumption Reporting Manager to guide a skilled team in analyzing and reporting customer water usage trends. This permanent role involves strategic oversight of regulatory commitments and data management, requiring strong leadership and technical expertise. With values centered around care for people and the environment, Anglian Water offers a collaborative and innovative workplace with numerous benefits.
Anglian Water plays a crucial role in delivering safe, clean water to millions of customers – and understanding how that water is used is fundamental to our service and our responsibilities to regulators.
We’re looking for a Customer Demand & Consumption Reporting Manager to lead a highly skilled team of analysts, providing insight and intelligence into customer water usage and consumption trends.
This is a high-impact role, influencing how we meet key regulatory performance commitments for Leakage, Per Capita Consumption (PCC) and Non-Household Demand, while helping us transition to the smart meter future.
Key responsibilities:Customer Consumption Reporting - You’ll lead a team of analysts responsible for reporting water consumption across all customer types—measured and unmeasured domestic, as well as non-household commercial and industrial. This includes overseeing data extraction from systems like SAP, our corporate datalake , logger platforms, ILPM, OT, and CMOS. You’ll ensure models stay current with changing data and regulatory needs, work with consultants on meter performance assessments, and deliver insights via tools like Power BI to support reporting on PCC and NHH demand.
Customer Night Use Analysis - You’ll ensure accurate reporting of night-time water use, a key part of leakage calculations. This includes monitoring equipment and data quality across 200 domestic DMAs and 2,000 logged NHH properties. You’ll maintain robust modelling outputs and infrastructure records, and represent Anglian Water in industry discussions as night use methodologies evolve with smart meter adoption.
Smart Meter Demand Impact - You’ll lead the development of tools to assess how smart meters influence customer demand. Working with internal teams and industry partners, you’ll establish methods to measure plumbing losses and supply pipe leakage, and report savings per property, distinguishing smart meter impacts from other demand reduction efforts.
Demand Management Effectiveness - You’ll collaborate with Brand & Comms and Wholesale teams to measure the impact of water-saving campaigns. Using Power BI or spreadsheets, you’ll deliver clear reports showing how these initiatives support our PCC and NHH reduction targets.
We’re looking for someone who combines technical data expertise with team leadership and a collaborative mindset. You’ll need to be comfortable working across complex datasets and multiple platforms while maintaining a focus on strategic outcomes and regulatory priorities.
