Job Description:

The Company.

An established and widely respected food manufacturer is looking for a Consumer Research Technologist to join their insights and sensory team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a diverse and popular product range including flavourings, quick meals, and ambient desserts – helping to shape the future of products enjoyed by households across the UK and beyond.

This hybrid role (approx. 3–4 days onsite) would suit someone early in their career who is looking to build hands-on experience in consumer research, data analysis, and cross-functional project delivery.

Key Accountabilities.

  • Designing and delivering consumer research projects, including Central Location Tests and Home Use Tests
  • Collaborating with marketing, insights, R&D, and external agencies to understand consumer preferences and optimise product quality
  • Briefing and managing research partners, analysing data, and presenting findings to internal stakeholders
  • Supporting the sensory panel team with testing and helping implement best practices
  • Leading multiple projects from start to finish – from sample sourcing and prep to final recommendations

People Profile.

  • Degree qualified in Food Science, Marketing, Consumer Psychology, or a related discipline (preferred)
  • Experience in sensory or consumer research – placement years welcome
  • Solid understanding of sensory evaluation methodologies and consumer testing techniques
  • Highly numerate with excellent data analysis and storytelling abilities – able to draw out clear recommendations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)

A real opportunity to influence food products seen on shelves across the UK – ongoing training and development given. If you’re looking for a role where you can blend analytical thinking with creativity – and be part of a friendly, high-performing team – this could be the perfect next step.
