Job description

We’re on a mission to make money work for everyone.

We’re waving goodbye to the complicated and confusing ways of traditional banking.

With our hot coral cards and get-paid-early feature, combined with financial education on social media and our award winning customer service, we have a long history of creating magical moments for our customers!

We’re not about selling products - we want to solve problems and change lives through Monzo ️

We’re looking for a talented Consumer PR Manager who’s passionate about their craft and excited by what we’re building at Monzo.

In this role, you’ll be a key member of our press and communications team, helping to grow Monzo’s reputation as a leading digital bank - one that’s scaling quickly, with our customers at the centre of everything we do.

Reporting to the Senior Brand PR Manager, you’ll support the delivery of our consumer communications strategy. This includes everything from leading creative campaigns and running a proactive press office, to announcing product launches, sharing customer stories, and responding to media opportunities. You’ll be a strong advocate for clear, impactful communication and a champion of our mission and values.

You’ll be hands-on, collaborative, and bring a thoughtful, strategic approach to your work. You know how to build meaningful relationships with journalists, identify compelling stories, and help bring our brand to life through smart, effective PR.

  • Support the execution of the consumer PR strategy, ensuring alignment across campaigns and initiatives.
  • Lead and deliver creative campaigns in collaboration with in-house teams and agency partners.
  • Manage a proactive press office: handle media enquiries, craft messaging, and write compelling stories.
  • Drive PR strategies and implementation for product launches, milestones, and key consumer moments.
  • Create high-quality content including press releases, opinion pieces, interviews, Q&As, and messaging.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on media coverage to assess performance and demonstrate ROI.
  • Work cross-functionally to uncover data-driven stories, pitch to media, and stay ahead of industry trends.

We’d love to hear from you if…

  • Bring experience in a fast-paced consumer PR environment, ideally agency-side at Account Director level.
  • Excel at storytelling with strong writing skills and a flair for creative, engaging content.
  • Thrive on building media relationships, pitching stories, and seizing newsjacking opportunities.
  • Are a proactive self-starter and collaborative team player with sharp attention to detail.
  • Possess excellent organisational skills to manage multiple projects, prioritise effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with all stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Have a passion for Monzo’s mission, using data to uncover stories and track performance, while staying ahead of trends and industry themes.

What’s in it for you

This role can be based in our London or Cardiff office, or distributed working within the UK (with regular meetings in London and potential international travel).

We offer flexible working hours and trust you to work enough hours to do your job well, and at times that suit you and your team.

Substantial learning budget each year for executive development, conferences, and industry engagements.

We will set you up to work from home; all employees are given Macbooks and for fully remote workers we will provide comprehensive support for your work-from-home setup.
