A leading company in the rail industry seeks a PR professional to support marketing activities. The role involves crafting press releases, managing media relationships, and evaluating PR impact. You’ll work closely with teams to develop engaging PR strategies and initiatives that drive visibility and engagement.

Support the planning, implementation and reporting of PR activities to drive earned media coverage and deliver against objectives.
Support the Consumer PR Manager to develop and deliver the annual consumer PR plans for the rail industry’s National Marketing activity, Railcard marketing and other marketing projects.
· Research and write press releases, inspirational content, PR campaign specific customer email and internal comms copy, briefing documents and Q&As.
· Distribute press releases, support media enquiries, interview requests and ensure press lists are kept up to date.
· Develop media relationships and cultivate new contacts within consumer media and pitch to journalists to achieve quality positive placements in print, broadcast and online media.
· Support the delivery of specific PR activations and, where required, work closely with PR agencies to develop and deliver PR activations on time and to budget.
· Ensure objectives of press office and PR activations are specified and the appropriate evaluation methods are in place to measure performance of all activity against objectives.
· Capture all press coverage and develop monthly reporting of PR activity performance against agreed KPIs for awareness, consideration and commercial targets.
· Collaborate with the wider marketing team, and relevant agencies where applicable, to ensure all activity is aligned with and supports other campaign and customer engagement activity.
· Maintain a keen understanding of industry and identify news trends.
· Record all PR activity costs, including raising purchase orders and processing invoices to ensure spending is in line with plans.
