Job Description

A growing financial services company is seeking a Consumer Loan Operations Assistant Manager for a full-time role in Asheville, NC. This role requires onsite presence, so candidates must be local.

Role Summary

The Consumer Loan Operations Assistant Manager oversees the Bank’s consumer loan servicing and loss mitigation functions. The ideal candidate will manage daily operations, ensure compliance, and deliver exceptional service. Strong leadership and operational expertise are essential, along with an understanding of relevant regulations and internal processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations of the consumer loan servicing department, including customer service, investor reporting, tax and insurance monitoring, payment servicing, and more.
  • Supervise and support staff, ensuring adherence to policies and high performance.
  • Develop, train, and mentor team members.
  • Handle recruitment, performance reviews, and employee recognition.
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Prepare operational reports and analyze performance metrics.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex inquiries or disputes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.
  • Maintain proficiency with loan software and collaborate on system updates.
  • Coordinate data interface tasks with third-party vendors.
  • Apply loan workout experience to evaluate alternatives to foreclosure.
  • Research and respond to error resolutions and information requests.
  • Assist with audits, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to policies and regulations.
  • Complete mandatory compliance training and follow all regulatory requirements.
Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • 7+ years of related consumer and/or mortgage lending experience.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of real estate insurance, property tax, loan processing, and regulations.
  • Understanding of loan documents, credit reports, legal processes.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in loan systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changes and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Preferred: Experience with investor reporting, GSE, and FiServ Signature products.

Salary: $80,000 - $85,000, commensurate with experience.
