Overview

We're looking for a strategic and people-focused Consulting Lead to manage our Environmental Consulting team. This leadership role is responsible for the delivery, quality, and growth of our consultancy services, while supporting the Head of Professional Services on wider business strategy and development.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of senior consultants
  • Ensure high-quality project delivery and reporting standards
  • Drive team performance through goal setting, engagement, and training
  • Support business development and explore new market opportunities
  • Collaborate across departments to align strategy and operations
  • Oversee team resourcing, capacity planning, and recruitment
Qualifications
  • You'll bring a strong academic background in Environmental Science or a related discipline (e.g. Geography, Geology, Biology, Chemistry), ideally with postgraduate qualifications and professional memberships such as IEMA or CIWEM.
  • You're a confident leader with:
  • Proven experience mentoring and managing teams
  • Strong technical knowledge in environmental consultancy (e.g. audits, assessments, flood risk, regulatory consultation)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive, reliable, and adaptable approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to manage complex projects and drive innovation
  • You'll be comfortable working independently, making decisions, and collaborating across departments to support business growth and team development.
