This full-time role involves supporting service expansion and providing high-standard care to the local community. Candidates should hold full GMC registration and have experience in comprehensive patient management, with opportunities for professional development in a collaborative environment.
Application for this substantive post will only be accepted if you hold full GMC registration with a license to practice and entry on the Specialist Register or anticipate being in receipt of CCT/Professional Portfolio (formerly CESR) within six months of interview.

The CotE team at FGH comprises 3 substantive CotE/Stroke physicians based on the 36-bed elderly care/general medicine/stroke ward, with outreach to the ED for front-door Frailty and stroke assessments, orthopaedics, and the 20-bed community ward.
Consultants are supported by 3 ACPs in Frailty, a Nurse Consultant, and 5 ACPs in stroke, front-door, and stroke therapy support.
Applicants with sub-specialty training in stroke medicine are encouraged to apply.

We are seeking an enthusiastic physician to join the Care of the Elderly Team at Furness General Hospital.
The post holder would share in duties to support service expansion, including a Virtual Ward to accommodate the increasing elderly patient load at FGH.
There is an active Day Hospital at FGH where daily clinics, including Falls, TIA, and General Medicine, are conducted.
This is a full-time (10 PA) post, incorporating on-call duties and personal SPA time.
The hospitals are located on the edge of the Lake District National Park, surrounded by natural beauty, offering excellent outdoor and recreational activities related to the sea, lakes, fells, and countryside.

We host clinical placements for Lancaster Medical School and students from the University of Central Lancashire, including Physician Associates. We also support doctors in training, specialty doctors, GP trainees, and the development of our consultant educators.
