Job summary

York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Consultant Vascular Surgeon to join a dynamic multidisciplinary vascular team. You will deliver comprehensive elective and emergency vascular services across York, Scarborough and North Yorkshire, including inpatient/outpatient assessments and major vascular surgery.

In this role you will provide 24/7 on-call coverage, contribute to MDT activities, and work toward national and local clinical targets.

• Extensive clinical expertise in vascular surgery and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day care of vascular inpatients at York Hospital.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient vascular assessment at York Hospital and spoke sites.
• Provide acute and elective operative intervention for patients requiring major vascular surgery.
• Provide 24/7 cover for acute and urgent vascular referrals.
• Provide elective support for complex surgery with risk of vascular injury for other surgical specialties.
• Be a core member of the vascular MDT.
• Deliver clinical and quality targets agreed with clinical teams and commissioners.

Job description
