We are more than 36,000 people, in over 70 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world's most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.

Our Planning team is growing, and we are looking for a Town Planner to support our team with a range of planning duties, focusing on policy, strategy, infrastructure consents, and regeneration planning.

As part of our Environmental team, you'll help improve quality of life. Your work could involve protected species, pollution, surface water and materials management, air quality, or noise, especially in some of the world's busiest and most beautiful locations.

We work to protect our natural environment and water resources while powering our world for future generations. We are addressing the effects of climate change, rapid urbanization, and biodiversity loss. The rate of large-scale events such as floods and wildfires is increasing. We are here to protect our environment and water resources for future generations.

Our team supports clients with some of the UK's most complex and diverse projects, including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, energy and infrastructure developments, residential and commercial schemes, socio-economic, health, and community planning, as well as research into the planning process. Our clients include Highways England, Transport for London, Transport for Wales, HS2, National Grid, Homes England, the Environment Agency, Welsh Government, and the Canals & Rivers Trust, along with private developers, social landlords, and local authorities.

At Arcadis, variety comes as standard. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects across our business. As a Town Planner, you will:

  • Provide planning advice to clients and collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams on masterplans, planning applications, regeneration strategies, policies, or socio-economic and health impact assessments.
  • Partner with clients to understand their challenges and apply your expertise to deliver solutions.
  • Support client relationships and work-winning efforts to grow the business.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in town planning, including policy, strategy, planning applications, consents, and regeneration planning.
  • Understanding of socio-economic and health impact assessments for development and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with planning applications, especially infrastructure consents.
  • Experience supporting masterplans and impact assessments in matrix and dispersed teams.
  • A relevant degree and a Master's in an accredited planning course, working towards chartership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI).
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders, including hard-to-reach groups and virtual public engagement.

We are expanding our team due to increased project demand. We offer variety through diverse projects across sectors like automotive, aviation, and manufacturing.

This role can be based in Birmingham, Leeds, London, or Manchester, with opportunities for remote work.
