Transport Planner - Birmingham - Growing Transport Planning Consultancy

Location: Birmingham (Hybrid)
Salary: 30,000 - 40,000 (DOE)
Type: Full-time, Permanent

I'm currently working with a well-established and forward-thinking transport planning consultancy based in central Birmingham. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they're looking to bring on a Transport Planner to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in development planning who wants to work across a diverse range of projects-including residential, commercial, and mixed-use schemes-within a collaborative and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare transport assessments, travel plans, and technical notes to support planning applications
  • Undertake junction modelling (using ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG) and trip generation analysis (TRICS)
  • Liaise with local authorities, clients, and other consultants
  • Assist with data collection, site visits, and feasibility assessments
  • Stay up to date with transport planning policy and guidance

Requirements:

  • Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or similar
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a transport planning/development planning role
  • Proficiency with standard transport planning software (e.g., TRICS, Junctions, LINSIG)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive and detail-oriented approach
