Your new company
My client is a leading consultancy specialising in ecological planning solutions, offering an extensive range of expertise to numerous and diverse high-profile clients within both the public and private sectors. They also have regular interaction with their partner companies specialising in landscape consultancy and ecological mitigation implementation / habitat creation. As they continue to grow, they are seeking talented Ecologists to join their Worcestershire and Hertfordshire offices.

Your new role
Responsibilities:

1. Assist senior members of staff with day-to-day project management, including managing your own projects in line with your experience.
2. Undertake field surveys using UKHab assessments, Biodiversity Net Gain condition assessments, and protected species surveys.
3. Support seasonal field surveyors by preparing site plans, risk assessments, and conducting ECoW.
4. Keep up to date with appropriate guidance and environmental legislation, including planning processes and/or Ecological Impact Assessments (EIA) / Habitat Regulation Assessments (HRA).
5. Assist with the production of a range of reports including BNG reports, Ecological Assessments, briefing notes, habitat management plans, and ES Chapters.
6. Management and/or supervision of a team if at a senior level.

What you'll need to succeed

1. Degree or equivalent experience in an environmental field.
2. Experience conducting wildlife surveys and botanical identification.
3. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Confident in Excel and other Microsoft packages.
6. Previous use of Kaleidoscope, QGIS, CorelDRAW, or similar software packages.
7. Full driving licence, with access to a vehicle, due to the remote location of the offices and sites.
