My client is a leading consultancy specialising in ecological planning solutions, offering an extensive range of expertise to diverse high-profile clients within both the public and private sectors. They collaborate regularly with partner companies specialising in landscape consultancy, ecological mitigation, habitat creation, and related fields. As they continue to grow, they are seeking talented Ecologists to join their Worcestershire and Hertfordshire offices.

Your new role

• Assist senior staff with day-to-day project management, including managing your own projects based on experience.
• Conduct field surveys using UKHab assessments, Biodiversity Net Gain condition assessments, and protected species surveys.
• Support seasonal field surveyors by preparing site plans, risk assessments, and conducting Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) duties.
• Stay updated with relevant guidance, environmental legislation, planning processes, Ecological Impact Assessments (EIA), and Habitat Regulation Assessments (HRA).
• Assist in producing reports such as Biodiversity Net Gain reports, Ecological Assessments, habitat management plans, and Environmental Statements (ES) chapters.
• Manage or supervise a team if at a senior level.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent experience in an environmental field.
• Experience in wildlife surveys and botanical identification.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office packages.
• Experience with Kaleidoscope, QGIS, CorelDRAW, or similar software.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle, due to remote office and site locations.
