Job Description:

As an Arcadian, you help deliver sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. You will be part of our global team of 36,000+ people across over 70 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life.

The Senior Fire Engineer will mainly work within the building sector, with potential support roles in other sectors, considering Arcadis's multidisciplinary services.

• Develop Fire Safety Strategy reports
• Conduct Means of Escape analysis, including evacuation calculations, route assessments, and evacuation strategy planning
• Understand British fire safety legislation and standards, such as Approved Document B, BS standards, and London Underground standards
• Apply risk-based interpretations of fire safety documents and international codes like NFPA standards

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in engineering (Fire, Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace), Architecture, or scientific/numerate fields (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) from a recognized university
• Recognized by a professional engineering body
• Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership preferred
• Knowledge of ALARP principles and Fire Risk Assessment
• Understanding of fire dynamics, heat transfer, and smoke behavior in enclosed environments
• Basic knowledge of Active and Passive Fire Protection systems
• Familiarity with fire modeling software like CFAST and FDS
