Your new role
As our new Senior EIA Consultant, you will bring your knowledge of EIA into play as you co-ordinate statutory and non-statutory environmental assessment processes required to support major development proposals across a range of sectors including onshore & offshore energy, property & development, data-centres and major projects. To succeed in this role, you must be able to apply environmental consenting processes in the UK as well as an understanding of wider planning processes and regulations.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Project team management and client liaison, together with assisting on business and client development
  • Working in multidisciplinary teams on the co-ordination and management of EIAs including taking overall responsibility leading smaller projects and coordinating elements of larger schemes
  • Desk based environmental baseline data collection and interpretation including site visits
  • Report writing and preparation of figures, including drafting sections of Impact Assessment chapters and document reviews
  • Stakeholder liaison including preparing materials for, and taking part in, stakeholder meetings and public consultations

Current Opportunities
Our current projects associated with this this role include the following opportunities:

  • Major Projects and Programmes - To support our Major Projects and Programmes team working on a range of large-scale projects including supporting our long term frameworks with the British Antarctic Survey and the Ministry of Defence and new projects in the rail and road sectors working with our UK and Ireland transport team
  • Property and Multi Markets - To support our Property and Multi Market teams on a wide range of projects supporting our frameworks with Homes England and work in the property, datacentre and ports & harbours sectors together with multidisciplinary work with our wider UK Buildings team
  • Energy - To support our Energy team on projects in onshore and offshore wind, solar, BESS, transmission lines, hydrogen and carbon capture & storage.

Your new team
You will be part of our UK Impact Assessment team, which forms part of our Global Impact Assessment Spearhead. The Spearhead has been established to drive further growth and specialisation in Impact Assessment globally, building on our existing successes through a continued focus on national impact assessment work, alongside targeting large, strategic projects – no matter where these occur, within our geographic strongholds or beyond. Our UK business employs over 300 environmental science professionals in 14 locations and covers a breadth of consulting services structured around impact assessment, compliance, strategy and transactions, new initiatives and sustainability, product safety and stewardship, contaminated land, and Water. Our clients include UK and global multinationals, utilities, local and central government and international institutions.   • Appropriate degree in environmental sciences, environmental engineering or a related environmental discipline
  • Master’s degree in an environmental discipline (advantageous)
  • Prior EIA coordination experience on complex projects (essential)
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Full clean driving licence
