Overview

Reporting to the Rota and Staffing Manager, the role comprises providing a full and comprehensive secretarial service to the trauma and orthopaedic consultants and their medical teams.

An exciting opportunity for a Trauma and Orthopaedic Consultant Secretary to join the Trauma and Orthopaedics Directorate at University Hospitals Dorset (UHD). Trauma and Orthopaedics is a large, well established service. Trauma and paediatric orthopaedic surgery is currently undertaken on the Poole Site, home to the largest fragility fracture centre in Europe with over 1200 patients attending per year requiring Neck of Femur surgery and a trauma bed base of over 100 beds. UHD are investing in services across the Trust, with many being transformed and developed following merger and the New Hospital Programme. This means that some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or long term. Poole until site swap when trauma will move to RBH. Please note if the role or service is relocated as part of a planned move, employees will not be eligible for excess mileage reimbursement. Travel from the postholder's home to the new work base will be considered a normal commute. Any other changes not related to this relocation will be managed according to the relevant Trust or National terms and conditions.
