Job description

Consultant Rheumatologist - NW England - FTC/Perm

Triple West Medical has been appointed by an NHS Trust based in the North West England to help recruit a Consultant Rheumatologist for a substantive or Fixed Term Contract post.

The NHS Trust provides acute and community services to over 550,000 people across the local region and collaborates closely with Health and Social care along with the local University for training and development.

The department provides a comprehensive outpatient specialist service for patients with non-surgical musculoskeletal conditions and connective tissue diseases. In addition to general adult rheumatology clinics, there are regular specialist clinics including early inflammatory arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis annual review, and combined consultant clinics with Dermatology and Paediatrics. You will have the opportunity to develop your own special interest and support junior doctors.

Duties / Responsibilities

  1. In conjunction with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, you will provide a comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic Rheumatology service.
  2. Share clinical responsibility for cases with consultant colleagues.
  3. Ensure service delivery across the wider team, empowering and assisting others to deliver optimum services.
  4. Maintain accurate and timely clinical record keeping using the Trust's electronic systems.
  5. Undertake effective liaison with regional colleagues to ensure delivery of patient care.
  6. Play an active part in the training and supervision of medical staff in junior and non-training grades and the development of support staff, supporting and leading the delivery of education for trainee medical staff and medical students.
  7. Participate effectively in Clinical Audit and Clinical Governance.

Our client is happy to issue Certificate of Sponsorships to suitably qualified overseas doctors; however, GMC registration and relevant experience are essential for this position.
