Job summary

Connected Places Catapult in Birmingham is seeking a Consultant in Local Economic Development to support evidence-based decision making for regional growth. You will conduct desk-based research, synthesize findings and deliver insights across economic development, innovation, and place-based policy.

You will contribute to economic analysis, data visualization and stakeholder engagement while supporting bids, case studies and opportunity development.

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in economics, public policy, social sciences, business, innovation studies or related discipline.
• Strong research and analytical skills; ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; ability to present findings clearly in reports and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Support revenue targets and spot opportunities.
• Contribute to bids and proposals; support opportunity development.
• Ensure CRM system is updated with stakeholder contacts and account information.
• Deliver plans and manage streams of work with effective project management.
• Collaborate across work streams and teams; maintain high-quality delivery.
• Promote inclusive, sustainable outcomes and professional delivery.
