Main area: Radiology. Grade: NHS Medical & Dental: Consultant. Contract: Permanent, including contribution to the General Radiology on-call Hours. Full-time: 10 sessions per week (flexible and home working options available). Job ref: 339-CCS6581-SS

Site: Southmead Hospital, with sessions at Cossham Hospital. Location: Bristol. Salary: £105,504 - £139,882 per annum. Salary period: Yearly. Closing date: 21/05/2025 08:00. Interview date: 01/07/2025.

Job Overview

We are pleased to advertise a substantive general radiology consultant post with a subspecialty interest in Musculoskeletal/Spinal Radiology at North Bristol NHS Trust. Our team is dynamic and enthusiastic, working in a large, friendly department. We serve as a tertiary and quaternary centre for trauma, orthopaedics, plastics, and complex spine. We support reporting and interventional radiography development. The role mainly involves interpretation and management related to general orthopaedics. The centre is multi-modality, with opportunities for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Main Duties

The post involves a 10 programmed activities (PA) job plan: 8.5 Direct Clinical Care (DCC) and 1.5 Supporting Professional Activities (SPA). Part-time options are available upon discussion. The job plan includes multidisciplinary meetings, face-to-face patient lists, general radiology activities across North Bristol sites, and participation in a 1:18 on-call rota (1.0 DCC). There are also opportunities for home reporting and additional activities to support departmental functions.
