This post is to provide additional specialist reporting to support and develop the current imaging services within the Trust. The post holder will work closely with the existing radiologists, but the post can be flexible to fit the applicant's interests. The post holder will be expected to contribute to cross-sectional reporting of abdominal-pelvic MRI and CT, ultrasound lists, and support MDTs.

The role includes a commitment to acute general work in the department. Acute CT and MRI reporting is handled by a dedicated acute reporting team within a reporting hub, promoting sharing of expertise and interesting cases. All radiologists have a two-hour weekly duty session. On-call frequency is currently 1 in 15, with reporting from 5-9 pm on weekdays and 9 am-5 pm on weekends. Outsourcing covers outside these hours. Most on-call duties are supported by a radiology registrar.

Main duties of the job

Responsibilities include general reporting for acute and cold cases and participation in the on-call rota. The acute reporting hub handles CT and MRI cases. All radiologists have a weekly duty session.

The department is committed to teaching, supporting trainees from West Yorkshire (Leeds) and East Yorkshire (Hull) schemes. It is highly rated by trainees and has strong links with Hull York Medical School, offering opportunities in undergraduate teaching and training.
