Job summary

Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a consultant radiologist to support a period of department expansion with a focus on General radiology and MSK. The post involves training and supervising Specialist Registrars and Allied Health professionals, and participation in regional MDTs and cross-sectional reporting to maintain high service levels.

The post holder will contribute to teaching, supervision, and research within the REALM department and allied radiology services at QVH,

Qualifications

• GMC registration is required for practising radiology in the UK.
• NHS hospital experience in radiology or related services is expected.

Responsibilities

• Report a wide range of cross-sectional scans for CT/MRI and plain films to RCR standards.
• Participate in regional MDTs.
• Maintain a high standard of clinical expertise and patient care.
• Perform ultrasound scans and independently report workload with written reports to RCR standards.
• Develop expertise in a subspecialty; MSK preferred.
• There is no on-call commitment.
• Support registrars, sonographers and reporting radiographers with mentorship and training.
• Collaborate with admin and junior staff for vetting queries and reporting escalations.
