We are seeking a values-driven Consultant Radiologist with special interest in any of the following areas; Gastrointestinal, urology or gynaecology to work within a cohesive team at Wirral University Teaching Hospital. A locum post will also be considered. Candidates should be able to handle risk and ambiguity comfortably and will be expected bring intellect and insight to leading on complex services.
This role will require an exceptional communicator who will be politically astute and quickly able to develop strong relationships internally and with a wide range of external stakeholders. We are interested in hearing from experienced clinical leaders who share our values and ambition and who are excited by the opportunity to help shape a vibrant health and care economy.
The job plans are for 10 Programmed Activities - 8.5 Direct Clinical Care and 1.5 Supporting Professional Activity (1.5 Core SPA). Additional SPA is available for additional roles in the department (Clinical/Educational Supervisor etc. There is a local agreement at WUTH that an additional 2 hours per week SPA are accommodated in monthly audit sessions and teaching during DCC commitments. Flexible and partial remote working patterns are readily considered.
The successful diagnostic candidate will participate in the diagnostic on-call rota and will provide weekend working sessions as part of their DCC. There is a 1 PA weekly allowance for diagnostic on-call duties and weekend working time. The diagnostic consultant on call is 2nd on call. 1st on call is a combination of the regional registrar hub and evening/overnight outsourcing company.
The successful candidate will be expected to take an active role in service development and redesign as well as collaboration with other local service providers.
