Job summary

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Consultant in Radiology to join our Radiology Department at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in Exeter. Job description

The Royal Devon is seeking to appoint a Consultant in Radiology to our services based at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

With the development of the Community Diagnostics Centre and a range of one-stop clinics, alongside an increase in demand across Medical Imaging services, we are looking to appoint Consultant Radiologists to join our friendly, successful and ambitious team.

Specialist interests are strongly encouraged. Participation in multidisciplinary team meetings is expected and the successful applicants will be part of the registrar supported on-call for general radiology (currently 1 in 16).

We are based in the South West of England, in a county renowned for its natural beauty, schools, infrastructure and quality of life. Exeter is a vibrant and welcoming Cathedral city. It has a highly rated University, excellent schools and an abundance of family amenities. The city is situated in the middle of the South West Region with easy access to Dartmoor and Exmoor, the surrounding countryside and the coast of Devon and Cornwall, promoting a lively outdoor lifestyle. The city is well served by rail, road and air links.

There are strong links with the Exeter University Medical School affording exciting opportunities to participate in both undergraduate teaching and research. The Radiology Department is ISAS/QSI accredited and is a training department hosting up to eighteen radiology registrars from the Peninsula Radiology Academy.

Applicants must be registered medical practitioners and either be on the Specialist Register, or be within 6 months of completion of specialist training at the date of interview; you should provide evidence of this with your application. When applying please include the contact details of a minimum of 3 referees which should cover the last 3 years of employment; if you are a Consultant one referee should be your current or most recent Medical Director, if you are a Locum Consultant one referee should be your Clinical Director. Additionally, the Trust will need to contact your current Trust’s Responsible Officer in accordance with GMC Revalidation requirements so please also provide appropriate contact details of this individual.
