The Priory Group offers services to the private sector as well as to the NHS. Private services are provided by Visiting Consultants. These consultants are not employed by the Priory Group but have practising privileges and as such are entitled to see outpatients on Priory premises and to admit their patients, under their care to Priory private beds. Priory Group has large multidisciplinary teams who are able to provide evidence-based therapies recommended to these private service users, without long waiting lists for the treatment they require. Additionally, Priory has excellent governance processes and ensures a good, safe quality service.
You will be required to provide support and advise nursing staff and hospital management on clinical issues. The role holder will be working in close liaison with other consultant teams and services within the Division as well as having continuing responsibility for the care of patients. You will have an excellent knowledge of Clinical Governance and regulatory requirements and will be qualified with full registration with GMC, as well as having experience working in a substance misuse setting and within a multidisciplinary team.
The Priory group offers a number of other benefits including a strong commitment to personal development. You will develop a private case load in the outpatient department and be given admitting rights to the private wards and therapy centre.
The role of a visiting consultant offers you the opportunity to build a private outpatient practice, alongside a private inpatient practice. At present, we are particularly looking for both acute and addictions consultants. You will be expected to adhere to Priory Group standards and policies throughout your practice.
‘All roles will be subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Priory Group will cover the cost of a DBS check for all successful applicants.’
