Kent & Medway NHS is looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the team at Upnor Ward in Maidstone. This role involves leading medical care on an acute adult in-patient ward while overseeing junior medical staff. The successful candidate will ensure high-quality patient care and maintain strong communication with multidisciplinary team members.

This is a 6 PA per working week post within one of the three general younger adult acute inpatient wards based at Priority House in Maidstone.
The post holder will be responsible for medical leadership and work collaboratively with other members of the MDT to deliver quality care to patients on the ward.
The post-holder will be job sharing the Responsible Clinician role with a Consultant Nurse (AC approved) for an 18-bedded acute adult female ward.
The ward is co-located with the West Kent Crisis and Home Treatment Team and is situated in close proximity to a district general hospital.
The post is a dedicated inpatient post with no community or outpatient responsibility.
Successful applicants must have MRCPsych or equivalent and be on, or within six months of inclusion on, the Specialist Register and be fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise, as well as Approved Clinician and S12 approval under the Mental Health Act.
Interviews will be conducted via video link using Teams.
