Job Description:

An amazing job opportunity has arisen for a committed Consultant Psychiatrist to work in an exceptional rehabilitation service based in Wrexham, Wales. You will be working for one of the UK’s leading healthcare providers.

This service provides care for men and women with personality disorders and mental illness in an established and well-run setting, focusing on equipping individuals with skills for community living.

Requirements:

  • MRCPsychiatry or equivalent with full GMC registration

Key responsibilities include:

  • Management of complex cases
  • Care planning and treatment formulation, guidance on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness
  • Liaison and collaboration with care co-ordinators, families, carers, and other agencies
  • Implementation of the Mental Health Act and liaison with the Ministry of Justice (if applicable)
  • Multi-disciplinary, multi-agency, and partnership working
  • Administrative duties related to patient care, ensuring NHSE contractual obligations are met, and discharge summaries are sent within 24 hours
  • Maintaining GMC registration and professional conduct
  • Maintaining section 12(2) and approved clinician status

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Experience working in psychiatry within multidisciplinary teams
  • Good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists
  • Accreditation or nearing accreditation in Forensic Psychiatry with the GMC
  • Recent appraisal/RITA within the last year
