We are seeking an experienced full-time Consultant Psychiatrist and Medical Director to work at Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke. The role involves providing senior medical cover on Knightstone Ward, a 15-bed highly specialised service for women with personality disorder and complex needs. The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician, overseeing the care of all ward inpatients, and will also be responsible for auditing medical services to ensure quality in accordance with GMC standards and other guidelines.
Additionally, you will serve as the Medical Director at Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke, a 71-bed hospital offering emergency admissions and rehabilitation pathways for men and women, including a specialist service for personality disorder. This is a full-time position with 0.2 WTE as Medical Director and 0.8 WTE as Consultant Psychiatrist.

As Consultant Psychiatrist: Lead high-quality care on Knightstone Ward, act as a positive role model, and oversee patient treatment plans.
Assess referrals, conduct mental state examinations, and undertake investigations and diagnoses. Lead ward rounds, audits, and risk assessments. Supervise reports for tribunals and liaise with the Ministry of Justice for patient transfers and leave approvals.
