A leading mental health service provider in the UK seeks a full-time Consultant Psychiatrist for their Male Acute ward at Cygnet Hospital Harrow. The role involves leading a multidisciplinary team to deliver high standards of psychiatric care. The post includes responsibilities for patient treatment plans, audits, and opportunities for professional development, including progression to Medical Director level.
We are seeking an experienced full-time Consultant Psychiatrist who will work at Cygnet Hospital Harrow and provide senior medical cover care to 14 inpatients on our Male Acute ward.
The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician and will oversee and maintain the care of all ward inpatients as required and will also have responsibility for auditing the medical services rendered at the ward and ensuring their good quality in accordance to GMC standards of good medical practice and other relevant professional guidelines.
In this role, your expertise will be the driving force for life-changing treatment fully supported by a Specialty Doctor and first-class multidisciplinary team including qualified nurses, psychologist and occupational therapist.
And you'll have the opportunity to progress to Medical Director Level through our management schemes.
Cygnet Hospital Harrow provides a recovery focused service treating a wide range of mental health problems. We also offer specialist diagnostic, assessment and inpatient services for individuals with mental health needs and who also have a dual diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.
Our Acute in-patient psychiatric services offer assessment, diagnosis and treatment for individuals with a wide range of psychological and emotional problems, including those who are detained under the Mental Health Act.
The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician and have overall medical responsibility of patient treatment plans, whilst liaising closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Registered Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers etc.)
The post holder will be expected to act as a positive role model, maintaining and demonstrating a positive attitude towards patients, their families, visitors and other staff.

West Wardprovides a safe and stabilising environment for individuals who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission.
The service accepts referrals which may be complex and the team are experienced working successfully and robustly with individuals who experience a high level of need and challenges.
In this role, your expertise will be the driving force for life-changing treatment fully supported by a Specialty Doctor and first-class multidisciplinary team including qualified nurses, psychologist and occupational therapist.
The successful candidate will be offered interview for Deputy Medical Director, which will include a salary increment depending on experience.
